Delta
Bite- by Dan Mathisen 6-14-2009

Finally more normal temps take hold as the weather and bite heats up. We've been doing some night catfishing and have had some exciting results. Stripers to 30 inches mixed with Catfish to about 12 pounds. December Shad is the key for us. As the temps rise the Snag Proof Frogs are getting much more play as follow ups to my Zoom Horny Toad and Of Course, The Rat-L-trap and Luckycraft LVR yo yoed on the outside weedlines. Buzzbaits and poppers are on fire now as well.

| Let's Talk Creatures Vince Borges |
| When I asked my kids what their favorite creature was, "Stitch" from Disney's "Lilo and Stitch", was their answer. Jim Carrey in the "Grinch", was my wife's response. But if you ask a die hard bass fisherman what their favorite creature is, I doubt their answer will be that of some Hollywood screenwriters imagination. |
Catfishing Springtime |
The Sacramento - San Joaquin Delta offers many different angling opportunities for fishermen throughout the year. Seasonally, striper, sturgeon, salmon and shad migrate through the hundreds of miles of waterways. Although these migratory species draw a lot of attention from anglers, the many different varieties of catfish are the most sought after fish here every year |
Transition Bass - Justin Dennison |
If you take a second to look around you'll quickly notice that spring as sprung. Yea, I know the water temperatures are still in the low 50's, if even that right now, but rest assured that spring and pre-spawn are about to begin.

| Insurance 101 Bob Miska |
| It’s late February, and the boat show season is half over. I have been at many of the boating/outdoor sporting shows this season talking to fisherman about their boat insurance and what their insurance needs are. What I have found surprised me, and actually scared me. |
Early Spring and Jig |
Glibe Once told me “Regardless of whether the jig is cast, pitched or flipped, you need to realize many of the strikes are going to occur on the initial fall, often the slightest pressure I’ll set the hook”. |
| Understanding Tides Dan Mathisen |
In 30 years of bass fishing, the most predictably and consistently productive waters I have found always been in Current. Here in the Delta tidal fluctuation is the key |
